Ufa was awarded the honorary title of the Russian Federation "City of Labor Valor" for the significant contribution of the city's residents to achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, and demonstrating massive labor heroism and dedication. Since the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Ufa has hosted more than 100,000 people and more than 60 allied industrial enterprises. Most of the workers arrived from Rybinsk along with the legendary engine plant, and Ufa began to create engines for fighters and bombers at a rapid pace.
